Sunshine Coast Haematology and Oncology Clinic provides treatment for blood disorders and cancer  :

Referral  :

A valid letter of referral from a Medical Practitioner is required prior to arranging an appointment with one of the Specialist Medical team.  This is important to ensure that your appointment is appropriately appointed and prioritised.

Appointments  :

On receipt of your referral letter, one of our administration team will contact you to arrange an appointment.  Alternatively, you can contact our reception staff during office hours, Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm

If you are unable to attend for your appointment, or are running late, please phone the Clinic as soon as possible.

Many patients from around Australia would like the convenience of continuing their treatment whilst they get on with life, and in many cases retirement. The Sunshine Coast is a destination for many of these travellers and we are happy to assist with your ongoing treatment whilst you pass through our wonderful region.

Information for Overseas Patients  :

The Sunshine Coast is one of (Queensland) Australia’s premier coastal destinations. The Sunshine Coast has many overseas visitors every year, who come to experience the fantastic climate, beaches, surf, country and people.

The Sunshine Coast Haematology and Oncology Clinic has established itself over the past 16 years, as the premier treatment facility for Private Cancer Patients, and every year provides over 4000 individual treatments. Our facility has 12 treatment chairs that all enjoy a spectacular view of the coastline and surrounding landscape, all nestled next to 6.5 hectares of parkland.

Our Clinic is serviced by 3 full-time Specialist Doctors and is well equipped to assist you with your medical treatment whilst in Australia. We can organise your pathology, we have on-site bone marrow aspiration available and can integrate your treatment with other providers such as radiation oncology.

The Health System in Australia does not provide funding for overseas residents generally, and as such your treatment will have to be fully funded in advance by you. Depending on the treatment you require and the sort of drug regimen undertaken, this can be every expensive. However, we realise many patients can afford this sort of service and we are happy to assist. We will provide you with a schedule of fees which will determine the cost of treatment, as you move through your treatment regimen. Because of our very good relationship with our pharmaceutical suppliers we will also do our best to keep that aspect of your treatment as cost effective as possible. Please keep in mind in advance that the total cost of treatment cannot be determined at the outset, but may run into many thousands of dollars.

As part of our service, we can, for a fee, organise other amenities that may make your stay easier. If you are intending staying, for example, 3 – 6 months, we can pre-arrange a car, house, or even housekeeper for you. For further information, email our CEO, Ben Korst on : bkorst@montserrat.com.au
